A Vintage Crate   +  TIME

take a picture.... it lasts longer!

Happy New Year readers!!

Sorry for the absence - but I've been passed around from relative to relative and back again over the Christmas hols - so haven't had much time to think up any interesting posts in my temporary nomadic existance. But inspiration struck when the most recent of my rather gorgeous pin up girls arrived in the post this morning...

wowzers!

Top:
My first sexy lady was purchased from a print sale in Cornwall, UK on a week's summer holiday and I couldn't resist!

Bought very soon after my first discovery of Etsy only last month (I am now a little addicted and can see myself becoming a collector of many things...) - http://www.etsy.com/shop/GypsysVardo

My most recent lady, again from Etsy and awaiting a frame! -http://www.etsy.com/shop/VANGUARDGALLERY
All inspired by (and I think copied from) the amazing Elvgren Pin Up Girls - http://www.elvgrenpinup.com/. Gillette Elvgren was an american painter of pin-up girls, advertising and illustration. What gives Elvgren's girls their charm is their 'girl next door' rather than 'femme fatale' personas, their innocent expressions when caught in compromising situations gives them a cheeky appeal.

What a beauty!
